It applies to all accounts.
Once a character is one year old you will get a mini pet on it. |

You seem to be slightly confused about how this works, if I'm reading this right.
A single character gets a present at 1 year, not when your account hits one year. But what chapters you haveshouldn't affect it. |

You'll see a birthday present in your inventory. Double click it and you'll see a mini-pet in your inventory.
Outside of towns, if you click the mini-pet in the inventory, it will pop out and follow you around. Every time you zone you must pop it out again. If you die it will remain where you fell until you rejoin it, but you can put it in inventory and out again to bring it to you. Here is mine |

Do you feed them? Do they die if attacked if they are seen in combat zones?
Thanks in advance, just wondering. Edited due to a post that explained some of my questones while i posted this. |

Can't feed them, can't be attacked or can attack.
Merely something to follow you around. |

Wait...I've had the game since retail, as well as my character since retail..so..what?
I'm all sorts of confused. I hate mornings, nothing makes sense in the morning. |

Type /age and it will tell you the age of your character. I don`t remember the exact date that retail came out but I`ve had the same character since the WWWE which was about 6-8 months before retail.

Just because I can't let it go, if you enter a Factions CE retail key you'll get a special Kuunavang dragon "toy." (They're technically not "pets", they don't attack, take damage, or do anything but look cool.)
You can trade toys, sell them for gold, or give them away. They are stored in you inventory, and come out to play when you click on them. They are only seen outside cities and outposts (explorable areas), and you can only have one toy visible at a time (although you can own and carry as many as your inventory allows). |

Do you have to have Factions for this? I only have the first Guild Wars. I have had it for about 9 or 10 months. Will I get one in 3 months or so even if I do not have Factions?
